It is time to Pray

Hello Everyone,

What was the content of Paul’s prayer in Col. 1:9-14? As we read we can see that Paul prayed for seven things:

The first part of Paul’s prayer was that the Church at Colosse might be PERCEPTIVE of God’s will.
We see this in verse 9. He prayed that these Colossians "might be filled with the knowledge of His will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding”.

We need spiritual enlightenment in order that we might know the will of God and do it. By nature we cannot understand the things of the Spirit of God.

1 Corinthians 2:14 The man (natural man) without the Spirit does not accept the things that come from the Spirit of God, for they are foolishness to him, and he cannot understand them, because they are spiritually discerned.

John 3:6 Flesh gives birth to flesh, but the Spirit gives birth to spirit.

Paul also prayed that they might be PLEASING to the Lord.

This is mentioned in verse 10, “And we pray this in order that you may live a life worthy of the Lord and may please him in every way…”
Romans 15:3 “For even Christ did not please himself but, as it is written: "The insults of those who insult you have fallen on me."

Galatians 1:10 Am I now trying to win the approval of men, or of God? Or am I trying to please men? If I were still trying to please men, I would not be a servant of Christ.

In your prayer life this week begin to pray with the Apostle Paul that those you are praying for would be perceptive of God’s will and that they would also be pleasing to the Lord.
All for Jesus
Phil
