Power and Patience

Hello Everyone,

One of my favorite parts of Paul’s prayer for the Church at Colosse is that he prayed that they might be POWERFUL for God’s glory.

Colossians 1:11 says, “being strengthened with all power according to his glorious might”. Paul is praying that they might have the experience of Pentecost, Acts 2:4 [endued with power from on high.]

Ephesians 3:16 I pray that out of his glorious riches he may strengthen you with power through his Spirit in your inner being,

Philippians 2:13For it is God who works in you to will and to act according to his good purpose.

Acts 1:8 [ye shall receive power AFTER the Holy Ghost…]

Also Paul prayed that they might have PATIENCE.

Notice three vital words in verse 11, “…endurance and patience, and joyfully”
"Patience" here means "endurance in the face of trial",

1 Cor. 13:4. Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud.

The apostle prays that these Christians might endure in the face of fierce testing, that they might do so with a gentle and loving spirit, and that they might be filled with joy, even though called upon to suffer for their Lord. Read Acts 5:41, and 1 Pet. 4:13.

May the Lord make you POWERFUL for God’s glory and may He give you PATIENCE in the face of trails.
