Our Defense

Hello Everyone,
We see DAVID’S DEFENSE: Psalm 63
7 Because you are my help, I sing in the shadow of your wings.
8 My soul clings to you; your right hand upholds me.

Protection is guaranteed by both God’s promises and by man’s experiences.
The Word of the Lord is Trusted
The Promises of the Lord are Tested
Deliverance from the Lord is Treasured

“In the shadow of your wings” here is a beautiful picture. Rain and snow can’t penetrate it. The wings make a complete covering. There is resistance in the feathers on the outside and softness in the feathers on the inside. To that baby chick, the mother hen’s wings means Security, Solace, Serenity, Strength.

The Shelter was:
Reasonable -- It Met the Need
Reliable -- It Had been Proven Before
Real -- Not Mere Imagination of the Mind
Restful -- David Felt Secure

In verse 8 we find that the seeker is sought.The expression “My soul clings to you;” literally means “is Glued to you”
David is saying “My soul completely depends on you” We see a mutual relationship. David depends on and cleaves to God and God holds him up with His powerful right hand.

It is our business to depend on Him and it’s His business to be faithful.
