Hello Everyone,
Hagar discovered this about God soon after she left from the tense situation in her home.
Thirsty, probably lonely and exhausted, Hagar eventually collapses by a spring of water in the desert.
It was here that Hagar has a visitor: Genesis 16:7-8 (NIV)
7 The angel of the LORD found Hagar near a spring in the desert; it was the spring that is beside the road to Shur. 8 And he said, "Hagar, servant of Sarai, where have you come from, and where are you going?" "I'm running away from my mistress Sarai," she answered.
Hagar discovers some cool things about the Lord here in the desert by a spring.
· He knows right where to find her.
· He knows her name.
· He knows her heartaches at home.
· He knows about the child that she is carrying.
· And the greatest thing that He knows is He knows her future her destiny.
Hagar is blown away listen to her response: Genesis 16:13-14 (NIV)
13 She gave this name to the LORD who spoke to her: "You are the God who sees me," for she said, "I have now seen the One who sees me." 14 That is why the well was called Beer Lahai Roi; it is still there, between Kadesh and Bered.
This is the only time as far as I can find in the Word that a person gives God a name.
El Roi the God who sees.
Oh How He Loves Us!
