Hello Everyone,
Know wonder they call Him Savior according to Isaiah 53 He was wounded and bore stripes for our healing.
This healing refers to salvation with all its benefits, spiritual and physical.
Christ gave gifts of healing to His church and commanded His followers to heal the sick as part of the gospel of The Kingdom of God.
BUT THE ULTIMATE PURPOSE BEHIND JESUS’ SUFFERING is found in Isaiah 53:6.
We all, like sheep, have gone astray, each of us has turned to his own way; and the LORD has laid on him the iniquity of us all.
The ultimate purpose behind His suffering was so that the lost sheep would be able to come home.
Look at verse 6. It tells us that we like sheep have gone astray.
Also 1Peter 2:25 says For you were like sheep going astray, but now you have returned to the Shepherd and Overseer of your souls.
Jesus suffered and died so that He could be the shepherd who leads us home.
2Corithians 5:21 God made him who had no sin to be sin for us, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God.
Jesus took our sin upon himself and did what we couldn’t do.
Jesus was our scapegoat.
READ THE LAST PART OF VERSE 6.
In the Old Testament, in the book of Leviticus chapter 16, we have what has been called the scapegoat.
In our day a scapegoat is someone who takes the blame or the fall for something they did not do.
Jesus had your sins placed on Him so that you could have eternal life.
Who sent Jesus to the cross? I did, you did.
While Jesus was being mocked and beaten, while He was dying an agonizing death on the cross, He was thinking about you.
Oh How He Loves Us!
