Hello Everyone,

“…What is your life? You are a mist that appears for a little while and then vanishes”. James 4:14

AN EXAMPLE OF WASTING TIME:
The Prodigal Son (Luke. 15:11-13) He wasted his wealth, his strength, his youth and his energy on rebellious living but mostly he wasted his time.Samson wasted his strength and testimony with a woman who was part of the enemies of God.The rich farmer of Luke. 12:16-19 was pre-occupied with the wealth of this world and gave no thought to the world to come.
A woman who had been living a very high-pressured life moved with her family from the city to the country. The family had decided to reduce the stresses and tensions that they had been under by entering into a gentler, easier life-style. A neighbor visited the mother one day and noticed something that had been pinned on the family bulletin board. She asked about it and the mother said, "Oh, that’s a poem that represents what our moving here was all about. The title of the poem is, "Lord slow me down.." But I haven’t had time to read the rest of it."
In Luke 10:38-42 we read about Mary and MarthaJesus is at Bethany. Martha invites him and his followers into her home for supper.Martha is busy preparing. One translation uses the word "cumbered" it means to be drawn in different directions at the same time. Mary was sitting at the feet of Jesus. Martha complained.Jesus notices that Martha is worried (nervous) and upset over things that ARE NOT IMPORTANT!! Mary has chosen that which is important. How many of us neglect the opportunity to sit at the Master’s feet for things that are not important. What if Jesus had said this to you? You would probably have gotten mad.
A very rich man died and someone asked, "How much money did he leave?" Another replied, "He left all of it." (I Tim. 6:7) -- "For we brought nothing into this world, and it is certain we can carry nothing out."Finally, we want to remember those who RAN OUT OF TIME. The rich farmer of Luke 12:20. The rich man of Luke 16.
Poem: The clock of life is wound but once, and no man has the powerTo tell just when the hands will stop at late or early hour.To lose one’s wealth is sad indeed. To lose one’s health is more.To lose one’s soul is such a loss as no man can restore.
It is said that, on the average, 39 people died in the time it took to read that little poem. Every hour almost 6,000 people die. You could have been one of them and sooner or later you will be. Are you ready?(Amos 4:12) -- "Therefore, thus will I do unto thee; and because I will do this unto thee, Prepare to meet thy God."

Compared to eternity our life span would not even be a minute.
If you only had One Minute to live what would you do?

A Minute To Win It. Lets win it!

Hello Everyone,
WE NEED TO BE USING OUR TIME.
Jesus said, "I must work the works of him that sent me, while it is day: the night cometh, when no man can work."
When asked, what was the hardest thing for a man to do, a philosopher said, "To employ his time wisely."
What is the wisest use of time?Believing in and Trusting in Christ. John. 6:28-29
28Then they asked him, "What must we do to do the works God requires?"
29Jesus answered, "The work of God is this: to believe in the one he has sent."

What is the wisest use of time?A Relationship with the Lord. No sooner was Daniel told that he could not pray than he went to his window and began to pray. No matter what the world says to you, you can not go wrong in praying.
What is the wisest use of time?
Working for God. (Parable of the talents - Matt. 25:14-30) The Scriptures tell us of 5 specific crowns that will be given to faithful workers.> incorruptible crown -- for a consistent Christian testimony (fighting a good fight)> crown of righteousness -- those who love the second coming of Christ and live their lives in faithful expectation of that moment.> crown of life -- those who endure testings; also called the martyrs crown.> crown of rejoicing -- soul winners> crown of glory -- the good shepherd’s crown for every Pastor who is faithful in feeding the flock of God.

We only have so many seconds today to use. We will never have this day back again. Use it wisely.

Hello Everyone,
WE ARE LIVING ON BORROWED TIME.
Psalms 90:10
The length of our days is seventy years—or eighty, if we have the strength; yet their span is but trouble and sorrow, for they quickly pass, and we fly away.

Many people think that we are given 70 years of life and when we have passed that then we are on borrowed time. That is not what the Scripture says. The average life span (world-wide) is less than 70 years but should we live beyond 70 years those extra years for most they are seldom years of joy and happiness. [Read verse again.]
Our whole existence is a gift from God. From the day of our birth until the day of our death we are on borrowed time. ("It is appointed unto man once to die")One of the great questions of all time is, “What is the meaning of life?”
This greatest of all philosophical questions is answered in the greatest of theological books.Eccl. 12:13 -- Now all has been heard; here is the conclusion of the matter: Fear God and keep his commandments, for this is the whole duty of man.
Mark 12:30 -- Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength.

The wisest use of our borrowed time is to invest it in a personal relationship with God.

Hello Everyone,
James 4:13-17
13Now listen, you who say, "Today or tomorrow we will go to this or that city, spend a year there, carry on business and make money." 14Why, you do not even know what will happen tomorrow. What is your life? You are a mist that appears for a little while and then vanishes. 15Instead, you ought to say, "If it is the Lord's will, we will live and do this or that." 16As it is, you boast and brag. All such boasting is evil. 17Anyone, then, who knows the good he ought to do and doesn't do it, sins.

In the grand scheme of history, human life is short.

Verse 14 reminds us that all of our plans and schemes amount to little more than mist or vapor when held up against the backdrop of eternity.

A doctor called one of his patients into his office to deliver some very important news. "I have received the results of your tests and I have some bad news and some good news", said the doctor. The patient was quiet for a moment, sensing the severity of the announcement. "Let me have the good news first, doc", said the patient. The doctor took a deep breath and said, "You only have 24 hours to live." "Oh my goodness", shouted the patient, "If that’s the good news what could the bad news possibly be?" The doctor replied, "I was supposed to tell you yesterday."

What if you were told that you had only one minute to live?
Most of us live as if there is no tomorrow. We simply have no concept of a world without us and yet each second the clock ticks away is one less second off our lives and as David said, “for they quickly pass, and we fly away”.

We have a gift from God and that gift is life itself. Every minute of every day, every heart beat, and every breath is a gift.

This week we will be discussing how short life is compared to eternity and also how God has made everything available for us to have a full and productive life.
