Hello Everyone,

Read with me:

18 and each of the builders wore his sword at his side as he worked. But the man who sounded the trumpet stayed with me.

19 Then I said to the nobles, the officials and the rest of the people, “The work is extensive and spread out, and we are widely separated from each other along the wall. 20 Wherever you hear the sound of the trumpet, join us there. Our God will fight for us!”

[Neh. 4:18-20].

Nehemiah said, "I will watch. When you hear the trumpet, come to that spot, and we will meet the enemy head on."

21 So we continued the work with half the men holding spears, from the first light of dawn till the stars came out [Neh. 4:21].

I don't know what union these men belonged to, but they certainly worked longer than eight hours. They worked from the rising of the sun until the stars appeared in the sky.

Believe me, they were tired and weary doing what God had Called them to do.

22 At that time I also said to the people, “Have every man and his helper stay inside Jerusalem at night, so they can serve us as guards by night and workmen by day.”

[Neh. 4:22].

To the men who had come from faraway places, like Jericho, Nehemiah said, "Stay close by, because we want you to be ready to guard at night."

So neither I, nor my brethren, nor my servants, nor the men of the guard which followed me, none of us put off our clothes, saving that every one put them off for washing

[Neh. 4:23]. KJV

Nehemiah says, "Of course when we took a bath we took off our clothes." Otherwise they never removed their clothes -- day or night. They were on guard all of the time.

Oh, to be so clothed today with the armor of God!

They had a mind to work. v. 6

They had a heart to pray. v. 9

They had an eye to watch. v. 9 [seeing the spirit world]

They had an ear to hear. v. 20

Greater Things Are Still To Come!
