Hello Everyone,

At Jesus’ transfiguration, we see one of the greatest Huddles that has ever occurred. Read Matt. 17:1-9 with me.

1 After six days Jesus took with him Peter, James and John the brother of James, and led them up a high mountain by themselves. 2 There he was transfigured before them. His face shone like the sun, and his clothes became as white as the light. 3 Just then there appeared before them Moses and Elijah, talking with Jesus.

4 Peter said to Jesus, “Lord, it is good for us to be here. If you wish, I will put up three shelters—one for you, one for Moses and one for Elijah.”

5 While he was still speaking, a bright cloud enveloped them, and a voice from the cloud said, “This is my Son, whom I love; with him I am well pleased. Listen to him!”

6 When the disciples heard this, they fell facedown to the ground, terrified. 7 But Jesus came and touched them. “Get up,” he said. “Don’t be afraid.” 8 When they looked up, they saw no one except Jesus.

9 As they were coming down the mountain, Jesus instructed them, “Don’t tell anyone what you have seen, until the Son of Man has been raised from the dead.”

There is nothing like Pep-rallies

At our Pep-rallies when I was in High School there would always be someone yelling through a megaphone getting the crowd pumped up for the Friday Night Game.

There would be students carrying banners, students wearing our high school colors, and of course the *** FOOTBALL *** team would be there.

No one ever walked away saying, “This was a dud they were always pumped and ready to cheer our team on even if we knew they were going to lose. (GO SCOTTS)

Pep rallies work because people who attend are not looking for what they can get out of it, they are there to be a part of it…there’s a purpose…encouraging and supporting the team. Everyone understands why they are there.

Just before Jesus took Peter, James, and John up the mountain, Jesus gave all the disciples a pep-rally.

After telling them about taking up their cross in order to follow, he tells them in chapter 16 vs. 27, “For the Son of Man will come in the glory of His Father with His angels, and then He will reward each according to his works.”

For the disciples, this was good news. For Peter, James, and John, it was the pep rally before the big play, which centered on the cross of Calvary and the empty tomb.

Greater Things Are Still To Come!
