Hello Everyone,

Let’s look at some Promises for those who need a second wind:

We have the promise of …God’s presence

v. 10 “I am with you”

In times of loneliness

Heb. 13:5, Jesus said, I will never leave you, nor forsake you! (The gk. Word “never” is there 3 x’s…never, no never, no never!)

A young bible college kid taking greek tried to impress a shut-in at his church he told her the above, what do you think of that? He said. She replied “Well, God may have to tell you greek fellers 3 x’s but once is enough for me!

Gospel of Matthew, has 2 cool bookends:

Beginning: “Emmanuel, God with us”

Ending: In The Great commission, where Jesus said, “Lo, I am with you always”

Your best friend may stab you in the back, but He’s a friend that sticks closer than a brother!

In loneliness…

In the valley

When defeat comes /discouragement/sickness/ financial challenges/heartaches/family problems…remember that the God of the mountain is still God in the valley!

A little boy went home after school very sad he told mom about Billy, his best friend, who had been absent for 3 days he found out today why when he returned to class…his daddy died, and when he told us, he cried and just laid his head flat on his desk. His mom asked “what did you do? The little boy said ”I didn’t know what to do, so I just laid my head on my desk and cried, too!

(That’s the kind of Savior we have! The Word says, “He is TOUCHED” with the feelings of our infirmities!

Jn. 11:35 says Jesus wept why?/Lazarus had died/Jesus even knew he was going to raise him from the dead, things were going to get better, but Jesus’ heart still broke in the meanwhile!

He’s there in the valley with you!

In loneliness, in the valley…and

In death

If we are honest, we’ll admit we have a fear of death. (It is a normal defense mechanism)

Ps. 23: “yea, tho’ I walk thru the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil…for thou art with me!

A preacher asked the church, how many wanted to go to heaven all raised their hands except 1 old man you sir, don’t you want to go someday? Oh sure, if you put it that way…I thought you were getting up a load to go right now!

Brother Marcy use to tell the story of Pastor Jones who passed away. When his wife was asked how did he go she said "You see Jesus came in that door came by Brother Jones Bed and took him by the hand and Brother Jones and Jesus went out that door together.

When our time comes, the Lord comes Himself with dying grace and takes away our fear. He doesn’t send an angel…He comes for us Himself!

It’s too soon to quit! We have the promise of His presence!

GREATER Things Are Still To Come!

Pastor Phil
