Hello Everyone,

Next Ingredient - Do Life God’s Way

II Timothy 2:1-5

1 You then, my son, be strong in the grace that is in Christ Jesus. 2 And the things you have heard me say in the presence of many witnesses entrust to reliable men who will also be qualified to teach others. 3 Endure hardship with us like a good soldier of Christ Jesus. 4 No one serving as a soldier gets involved in civilian affairs—he wants to please his commanding officer. 5 Similarly, if anyone competes as an athlete, he does not receive the victor’s crown unless he competes according to the rules.

You cannot cheat and win. “…he does not receive the victor’s crown unless he competes according to the rules.

You know it’s not a popular position today to remind people of God’s RULES.

We live in a world that sets its own rules for living.

Look around and see what living by our OWN rules has gotten us.

Almost ½ of all marriages end in divorce, approximately 1/4th of all pregnancies end in abortion, almost 50% of our teenagers are sexually active before they graduate High School; more than 1 in 4 children under the age of 18 are living in single parent homes.

The stats go on and on and on and on. What has all of this free living, making our own rules, going our own way gotten us?

Do we live in a better world?

Are we safer, more secure, or happier?

Are our families better off?

Still the media and the world around us say, “Keep it up we are only just breaking out of these restrictive Moral Values.”

God spoke to Joshua when He called him to lead the people into the promised land and this is what he said, “This book of the law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do according to all that is written in it; for then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have success.”

Paul said “…he does not receive the victor’s crown unless he competes according to the rules.” It all means the same thing.

Greater Things Are Still To Come!

Pastor Phil
