Hosanna Save Now 5

Hello Everyone,

Too many people come to Christ, accepting Him as their Messiah, their Deliverer, their Savior, with the same attitude that the Jews had.

They want a Messiah who will give them a perfect life.

They are looking for an earthly King who will give them a life of peace, safety, health, prosperity and happiness.

And at the same time continue to live as they have always lived without any thought of Holiness expecting God to bless them even in their sin.

Jesus can and will give us many blessings in this life; but we must never forget that He didn’t die for us to have a good life on this earth. He died for us to have eternal life!

Are we shouting Hosanna, “save us”, “save us now”,

Save us from our burdens.

Save us from our troubles.

Save us from our sicknesses.

Save us from our family problems.

Save us from the storms of life,

But don’t try to control my life because I want to be free to live as I please without the interference of God’s laws and His Word.

Let’s shout Hosanna to the Lord this morning.

Let’s praise Him for being the Son of God.

Let’s worship Him as the Lord of our lives.

Let’s give thanks to Jesus for what He has done for us.

He has SAVED US!

Shout Hosanna! Lay down your life before Him! Recognize Jesus as your Lord, your God and your Messiah!

He has come to bring peace to your heart and soul and to give you eternal life.

He deserves ALL of our praise!

Jesus desires to enter the doors of your heart right now.

He does not come to you as a conquering hero, with His unlimited power to force His will on you.

He comes to your door as SAVIOR.

He gently calls to every heart, asking if we will open the door and allow Him to become our King and the Lord of our lives.

He is still coming as a peaceful king for now.

He enters the heart of every man as though He were still riding on that donkey, coming as the King of Peace and the King of Life.

Will you shout Hosanna as you allow Him to come in?

Will you shout blessed is He who comes in the name of the Lord?

Even so, come Lord Jesus.

Come and establish your kingdom of eternal life in me!

JESUS SAVES!

JESUS SAVES!

JESUS SAVES!

HOSANNA!

Hallelujah! He Saves!

Hosanna Save Now 4

Hello Everyone,

As Jesus rode into town, the people let loose with joyous, open praise.

A crowd of people, probably from His home region of Galilee, gather and shout Hosanna! Blessed is He who comes in the name of the Lord.

By Jesus’ time, Hosanna had become a common shout of Jewish praise to God.

As we said Hosanna literally meant to “SAVE” – To say Hosanna was to praise.

The text says the people were laying things down before Jesus.

They were laying down their coats and branches from the fields.

By spreading their coats on the road, as well as freshly cut branches, it was their version of rolling out the red carpet.

What a scene that must have been. The Pharisees told Jesus He ought to rebuke his disciples.

Jesus said, “I tell you, if they keep quiet, the stones will cry out!” (Luke 19:40)

God deserves praise. And if people won’t do it, His Creation will continue to cry out.

Mountains, oceans, sun, moon, stars, trees, hills and even rocks scream out the praises of the Creator – the One God – Father, Son and Holy Spirit.

The One who happened to ride into Jerusalem on a donkey to face a cruel death at the hands of sinful men is the One who created everything that is.

And yet it is this One who came for ONE sole purpose and that is to SAVE! HOSANNA! SAVE! SAVE NOW!

Verse 9 "Hosanna to the Son of David!" "Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord!" "Hosanna in the highest!"

It was a Triumphal Entry in the greatest sense of the word.

Not as a deliver of Roman Rule.

He rode in as the King who was coming to conquer death, hell and the grave.

He was coming in as the conqueror of Satan and every power of darkness and evil.

He was coming in to establish His victory over sin once and for all.

He was coming in so you and I could be SAVED!

GLORY! Greater Things Are Still TO Come!

Hosanna Save Now 3

Hello Everyone,

Jesus rode into Jerusalem that day on a mission.

It was Passover. The greatest of all the Jewish feasts and people from all over Israel made their way to Jerusalem to celebrate.

This holiday (Passover) commemorated God freeing the Jews from Egyptian bondage during the days of Moses.

Jesus, already having traveled and taught and performed miracles over the past three years was making what would turn out to be His last trip to this Holy City.

He knew what would happen there…how He would be treated…how He would die.

But He had a mission.

Just a few days earlier He had made the statement, “For the Son of Man came to seek and save what was lost.” (Luke 19:10)

As we said the word “Hosanna” literally means “Save!”

“Save!” the crowd shouted.

I wonder if Jesus thought, “That’s exactly what I’m here to do. How right you are, but how little you understand.”

Without understanding the details, the crowd was proclaiming what Jesus came to do.

Hosanna Save Now 2

Hello Everyone,

One writer said: “The death and resurrection of Jesus Christ are the two main hinges on which the door of salvation turns.”

He came into the world on purpose to give His life a ransom (payment/liberate/set free).

Just so you will know we have two O.T. Prophecies fulfilled in this text.

Matthew 21:5 "Say to the Daughter of Zion, 'See, your king comes to you, gentle and riding on a donkey, on a colt, the foal of a donkey.' This is the 14th O.T. prophecy fulfilled in Matthew.

Zechariah 9:9 Rejoice greatly, O Daughter of Zion! Shout, Daughter of Jerusalem! See, your king comes to you, righteous and having salvation, gentle and riding on a donkey, on a colt, the foal of a donkey.

And then in Matthew 21:9 The crowds that went ahead of him and those that followed shouted, "Hosanna to the Son of David!" "Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord!" "Hosanna in the highest!" This is the 15th O.T. prophecy fulfilled in Matthew.

Psalms 118:25-26 O LORD, save us; O LORD, grant us success. 26 Blessed is he who comes in the name of the LORD. From the house of the LORD we bless you.

These words were sung by the Jews at the feast of tabernacles, while caring green branches in their hands.

The word “Hosanna” is a Hebrew expression that means “Save!” or “Save Now!” This also became an exclamation of praise in verse 15.

THIS WAS JESUS’ MISSION: TO SAVE

Hosanna Save Now 1

Hello Everyone,

This coming Sunday is Palm Sunday the day that Jesus made His Triumphal Entry read about it in Matthew 21:1-11.

As they approached Jerusalem and came to Bethphage on the Mount of Olives, Jesus sent two disciples, 2 saying to them, “Go to the village ahead of you, and at once you will find a donkey tied there, with her colt by her. Untie them and bring them to me. 3 If anyone says anything to you, tell him that the Lord needs them, and he will send them right away.”

4 This took place to fulfill what was spoken through the prophet:

5 “Say to the Daughter of Zion,
‘See, your king comes to you,
gentle and riding on a donkey,
on a colt, the foal of a donkey.’”

6 The disciples went and did as Jesus had instructed them. 7 They brought the donkey and the colt, placed their cloaks on them, and Jesus sat on them. 8 A very large crowd spread their cloaks on the road, while others cut branches from the trees and spread them on the road. 9 The crowds that went ahead of him and those that followed shouted,

“Hosanna to the Son of David!”

“Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord!”

“Hosanna in the highest!”

10 When Jesus entered Jerusalem, the whole city was stirred and asked, “Who is this?”

11 The crowds answered, “This is Jesus, the prophet from Nazareth in Galilee.”

I wander as the crowds saw Jesus ride into town, did they realize what was really going on.

Did they see more than just a man riding on a colt, did they see Jesus as the Son of God or did they miss it?

Did they just see that Jesus was king for a day and nothing more?

The crowds were like a little boy I read about listen:

There’s a story about a little boy who lived in a small country town where there had never been a circus. He knew about circuses from his school books, but never had he seen a real, live circus. And then one day there was a poster on the side of a building announcing that a circus was coming to his town. Well, he knew right there and then that he must see that circus, so he began to save up for it, and he started counting the days. On the last night before the great event, he was too excited to sleep. He was up before daylight to get all his chores finished and be down on the main street by nine o’clock. Shortly after nine, the great circus parade came down the street. He saw lions and tigers, beautiful horses, tremendous elephants, jugglers, clowns, acrobats, and the circus band. His eyes were wide with excitement, his feet couldn’t stop jumping up and down, and he couldn’t stop shouting.

When the parade finally ended, the little boy stepped out of the crowd handed his money to the last man in the parade, and went back home. He thought to himself that the circus was just about the greatest thing he had ever seen. Not till years later did he discover that he still had never seen a circus, he had only watched the parade and gone home.

The boy saw the parade but missed the circus.

The crowds in Jesus day saw a king for a day, but I think missed what was important, that Jesus was the Son of God.

They missed that idea so it was easy for them to nail Him to the cross in a few short days.

And what about us:

· Do we just see the parade and miss the circus?

· Do we see the glory of Jesus, but miss that He is the Son of God?

· Do we see the glory of Jesus and miss that He was nailed to the cross for our sake?
