Attitude of Worship 2

Hello Everyone,
David was the king of Israel, the leader of their armies and a preacher of the Word of God. All of these responsibilities would be more than most of us are capable of bearing.
So how does he hold it together? He does it by keeping an attitude of worship.
The first thing that David had was:
The Discipline of Worship: To be a person who is a true worshipper requires a commitment to personal discipline.
We live in a time when things compete for our time we are forced to make choices.
David resisted the temptation to be consumed with his duties in leading a nation and chose instead to make God his number one priority. This single-minded pursuit is what made him such an effective leader.
Do you remember when David faced Goliath in 1 Samuel 17? All of Saul’s army could only see their situation from a human, and hopeless, perspective, David, the worshipper of God, did not fall victim to their way of thinking.
He faced Goliath not because he was stronger or more experienced, but because he was highly motivated. David was offended by the arrogance of Goliath and his unwillingness to acknowledge the greatness of the God he worshipped (1 Samuel 17:45-47).
Goliath could have mocked the armies of Israel, David himself, and even David’s mother, but nothing got David’s blood boiling like the unwillingness of Goliath to respect and honor his God.
We must be careful not to lose the perspective that we exist to glorify God. We must think as David did: "One thing I ask," he prayed, "this is what I seek."
Greater Things Are Still To Come as we press in to Worship.
