Pastor Phil,
The first part we
covered when we met last week, the second part is new so I thought I
would inform you and Jane at the same time
Jane,
1.
I called earlier but Tim said you were out so I thought I'd send it to
you so I didn't leave out any details. We can talk about it further
tonight too. Mr. Timms at BHP recommended Tiffany Goff as a piano
player. We have practiced a few times already and it seems like she
will be a good fit. She will play this Sunday morning only and as long
as things go well she will play for us the 24th and going forward both
AM and PM. We will pay her but not nearly as much as we paid in the
past. We will pay her $100.00 a month using a 1099. This month since
she will have played 2 sundays and practiced several times, we will pay
her $50 for June.
2. Hazen Bannister
came out yesterday to tune the piano (I put the invoice in your office
with some other receipts). He was able to fix the stuck key and tune
the piano. While he was here, he mentioned that he had installed the
sound system years ago so I told him about the problems we had been
having with volume and sound quality. As we investigated, it seems that
there is a problem with the sound board and surprisingly the mounted
speaker on the piano side of the church is almost totally blown. We are
getting very little sound out of it so any sound that side of the church
is getting is coming from the other speaker and platform monitors. He
is pretty sure that it was a lightning strike or power surge and
probably happened months ago. The speaker can be repaired but the
board will need to be replaced. I talked to the insurance company and
it looks like they will cover it. Mr. Bannister will have to submit an
estimate and an affidavit that in his professional opinion it was
lightning damage, which he is prepared to do. Of course, we will have
to pay the $500 deductible but that is better than paying the full
price.
If either of you has questions let me know.
Thanks,
PA
