Directionally Challenged 5

Hello Everyone,
The Holy Spirit Guides Us Through — Circumstances!

Sometimes God closes a door … sometimes God opens a door … but be very careful in using circumstances as the determining factor for God's will!

The disciples were obeying Jesus when they ran into a storm!
Jonah was running from God and was sleeping in a storm!
Circumstances are like the runway lights at the airport … they must line up with a number of other factors before they're to be fully trusted!

We've talked about:
1. The PROMISE of a guide!
2. The PROCESS of guidance!
There's one more key to successfully navigating life —

Our PARTICIPATION in Guidance!

If we want the Holy Spirit's guidance in every decision and detail of our lives … we need to do two things:

We must — Ask for it!

James 1:5
"If any of you lacks wisdom, he should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to him."

The Holy Spirit won't force His guidance on any of us … direction is given to those who want it!

We must — Act on it!

Romans 12:1-2 — "Therefore, I urge you, brothers, in view of God's mercy, to offer your bodies as living sacrifices, holy and pleasing to God—this is your spiritual act of worship. 2 Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God's will is—His good, pleasing and perfect will."

When we do what we know … we'll know what to do!
In other words —
If I don't do what God has already told me … I won't hear any further directions … God's will is progressive in its unveiling!

We're all — directionally challenged!

One of the greatest needs we all have is for — direction in life and about life — and that's one of the major purposes of the Holy Spirit … to give us the guidance we so desperately need to live life successfully!

Greater Things Are Still To Come!
