Directionaly Challenged 2

Hello Everyone,

Let’s look at the difference between guidance and a guide with a question —

If you were suddenly dropped off in the middle of an uncharted jungle and you were given the choice of three tools — a compass, a map, or an experienced, personal guide — which one would you choose?

If you're smart … you'd choose the experienced personal guide!
Guides worth following and trusting … possess two qualities:

Good Guides Know Where They're Going!

How many know that following a person who doesn't know where they're going doesn't make much sense?
(Neil looking for the ice skating rink)

Have you ever seen the bumper sticker that reads —
"Don't follow me … I'm lost!"

Good guides have been there before … they know the destination and the best routes!

Key — When it comes to life … there's only one guide who can successfully lead us into our tomorrows because there's only one guide who has already seen our tomorrows … that guide is the Holy Spirit!

Joshua 3:2-4 "After three days the officers went throughout the camp, 3 giving orders to the people: "When you see the ark of the covenant of the Lord your God, and the priests, who are Levites, carrying it, you are to move out from your positions and follow it. 4 Then you will know which way to go, since you have never been this way before…"

The Ark of the Covenant represented — God's personal presence!
God knew where Israel needed to go … both physically and spiritually and literally— God became their Guide!

Listen carefully —
What God did for ISRAEL … He wants to do for us!!!!!!

Psalm 32:8 —
"I will instruct you and guide you along the best pathway for your life; I will advise you and watch your progress." (The Living Bible)

Good guides not only know where they're going —

Good Guides Know whom They're Leading!!!!!

Let me say it a little differently —
Good guides factor in the personality of the person they're leading their interests, their capabilities, and their temperament!

Good guides choose the right path and the right pace based on what's in the best interest of the person they're leading!

Key — That's the kind of guide the Holy Spirit is … no ones knows us better, no one understands our capabilities and liabilities like the Holy Spirit — He tailor makes our course in life because He knows who we are … where we are … and who we can become!

If we're to navigate life successfully … we need to claim —
Jesus' PROMISE of a guide!

Greater Things Are Still To Come!
