Team Player verses Lone Ranger 1


Hello Everyone,
Our Theme verse is 1 Kings 18:46 The power of the Lord came upon Elijah”
And
Ephesians 3:20.
20 Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us,

There is a difference between baseball and tennis, between golf and basketball.
There are team sports and those that are played individually.

Although many people love team sports, some don’t fully understand what it means to be on a team, especially God’s team.

Many Believers have a Lone Ranger approach to their faith.

They don’t recognize the POWER of God that is available to them nor their responsibility to access that POWER as they represent Christ in the world.

They also may neglect the value of connecting to a local church and deepening relationships with other believers to further their walk.

We were never intended to go it alone. God isn’t looking for Lone Rangers; He wants team players.
The world equates the Lone Ranger mentality with being tough, and people fall into the trap of needing to “handle it themselves” as a sign of adulthood and authority.

In reality, that’s the lie of secular humanism that is alive and active, telling us that it’s all about us and that we only need to depend on ourselves.

On God’s team, you are never the star player, but you can assume a strong supporting role.

Imagine being on Mount Carmel, called to the mountain by a prophet whose reputation preceded him.

Imagine standing on the side of Baal’s 450 prophets, along with the prophets of Asherah and other false gods, staring down a guy who is going it alone.

Can you imagine what they must have thought of Elijah? Can you imagine being Elijah and standing by yourself against such a crowd?
