Grow in Goodness 1

Hello Everyone,

What do you think of when you hear the word goodness, or the phrase a good job, a good book, a good person?

It refers to something that meets a certain standard, someone’s expectations.

It fulfills the goal or the job.

What do you mean when you say you had a good experience?

A good deed benefits someone in some way. It is an act of kindness.

This week we want to look at The Fruit of the Spirit is Goodness.

Our series is called, The Fragrance of Ministry looking at the Fruit of the Spirit.

Each fruit characteristic builds on and is reinforced by one another.

Because God IS LOVE and because Jesus said that love is a test of obedience, love is the foundation of the fruit of the spirit.

All that we do as followers of Christ must be motivated by LOVE.
This LOVE is a LOVE that expects nothing in return.
It is a sacrificial LOVE.

If we partner with Christ and allow the Holy Spirit to truly live in and lead us then as a KIND person:

 
We show love to others
We express a joy that comes from a life centered in God
We experience a peace that helps us focus on the LORD through thick and thin.
We respond in a patient manner because God’s love, joy, and peace operate to help us become more patient people.

Greater things are still to come!
