Hello Everyone,
What does this supernatural comfort that we have read about in 2 Corinthians 1 do in the life of the believer? It firms up your hope. (V7)
“And our hope for you is firm, because we know that just as you share in our sufferings, so you also share in our comfort.”“Against all hope, Abraham in hope believed and so became the father of many nations, just as it had been said to him, “So shall your offspring be.” Without weakening in his faith, he faced the fact that his body was as good as dead-since he was about a hundred years old- and that Sarah’s womb was also dead. Yet he did not waver through unbelief regarding the promise of God, but was strengthened in his faith and gave glory to God, being fully persuaded that God had power to do what he had promised.” (Romans 4:18-21) Abrahams hope was firm despite: All hope The facts His age His physical condition His wife’s condition
It keeps your head above water (V8) “We do not want you to be uninformed brothers, about the hardships we suffered in the province of Asia. We were under great pressure, far beyond our ability to endure, so that we despaired even of life.”How did Paul make it despite the hardships, the suffering, the great pressure and the despair? The comfort of God!
Oh How HE Loves Us!
